Stevie Ray Vaughn

Why is he so great?

I've been trying to learn how to play "Pride and Joy" off of his first album "Texas Flood" and let me tell you it is hard as hell. How is he so good? More importantly, how the hell did he play when he was fucked up on Jack Daniels and coke all the time?

*sigh*, guess I'll never know... oh well, back to playing.

Yours,
A Frustrated Musician

drugs can fuck a mother up so well they forget about how to do it and concentrate on pushing out the feeling behind it.

not like i'm saying go play with stimulants, children.

the moral of the story is to be a good musician, one must concentrate more on what's behind it and less on how it sounds.

self, take not.

Jack and Coke, like the drink? Or Jack.... and coke, the drug?

Anyway, damn all those more talented than us!!!

Hmm, there's that talent aspect popping up again. That's part of it, but then there is that second part, the part where you work and work and work at the talent you have. How much time are you willing to spend - just you and your guitar?

With acting, at least you can bounce lines off of other people.

But what do I really know about it? I'm just a suburban bourgeois homeowner; wife, kids, dogs, Lee Morgan playing in the background.

Yea, dad... I know, and I do play alot... i just want it to be good without all the work.

and amber, I do mean the drug, like cocaine. I read he dissolved 8 grams of it into a glass of jack everyday.

And thanks Lisa, i'll work on that.

That's like asking why the sun shines, its talent, like your dad said.
